Ramadan 2013 (1434 h.)

Moon Sighting Report for Ramadan 1434 AH
Last Updated on Monday, 08 July 2013 19:16
“On Monday 8 July 2013 (29 Shaban 1434 AH) many people from throughout the UK have attempted to sight the crescent moon (Hilal) of Shaban after sunset. None of the groups were able to sight the Hilal even though many places had clear sky conditions.
We have not received any reliable sighting report (Muhaqaq-Ruyat-Basari) from east of the UK/Morocco either. Both the Jamiat-e-Ulama South Africa and Morocco Awqaf Ministry have reported negative sightings.
Therefore, the Wifaqul Ulama have decided that the month of Shaban 1434 AH will complete 30-days and the month of Ramadan 1434 AH will start from Wednesday 10 July 2013, Insha-Allah“.
Ramadan 1434AH Announcement
Mon – 08 Jul
“Many people made the effort to sight the moon of Ramadhan throughout the UK. All reported negative sighting. Similarly, despite efforts in Morocco and South Africa, the moon was not sighted. Hence, the Wifaq ul Ulama hereby announces that the first day of Ramadhan will be on Wednesday the 10th of July, InshaAllah“.
Jamiatul Ulama South Africa – United Ulama Council of South Africa (UUCSA) Crescent Committee
“UUCSA Central #Hilaal Committee has announced the new moon hasn’t been sighted. Shabaan 1434 ends with 30 days. 1 Ramadan 1434 = 10 Jul 2013“.
